| Welcome |
Hello everybody,
First of all we want to welcome you to this part of our site where you can help each other, discuss some things and post questions.
Not everything has to be WinMX related.. simply look carefully in which section you need to post what you want to post... and if that's nowhere ..you might want to choose the offtopic/discussions section (or maybe it just does not belong on this forum at all?).
Please register your personal account, which will give you access to extra features (too many to mention here) but you may also just read when not registered for now (we'll see how things develop... This might change along with some rules later if necessary).
After you have registered you will receive an E-Mail containing an activation link, visit this link (click on it!) and your account is a fact!!
You did not receive an E-mail? Check your spam folder and mark the concerning E-Mail as safe!! (so accept it!..it IS safe!)
What we do NOT accept here is ..posting illegal links/downloads/material, bad language, trouble makers, spam and advertising!
Messages might be edited or even deleted for these reasons and if we feel we have no other choice we might even use the ban function (though we'ld rather not do any of those things).
Emails and private messages send from here go over this forum and nobody will see the addressed- or sender's-address, but please respect each others privacy and use these options only when invited/asked to do (just like in our chatrooms on the WinMX Network and the WWW).
You can send Administrators and Moderators complaints in a private message if you feel you have to!
Feel free to check how to post or play around in the test section, but do keep it nice and clean according to things mentioned above!
Ofcourse we hope you will enjoy yourself and spend alot of time on here helping people, getting help, having fun or just reading messages!
Assuming we have informed you enough for now, all that is left for us is to wish you alot of fun and don't forget we also have the live chatrooms (under construction or offline at the moment) on WinMX and the WWW, we hope to see you there alot too!

Port Checking for WinMX and its Clients
|
Author: Joshua203

A useful Online Tool was Added to our Portal Page to help people Check if they have Opened their Ports Correct for WinMX (Firewall and Router Settings), this Tool also works great for Testing ChatRoom Server Ports.
It Checks if the Port(s) you choose to be Tested (TCP Port for Secondary and UDP Port for Primary Connection) and will tell you if the(se) Port(s) are Open or Closed, but also if WinMX (or any other WinMX Client) is Responding on that given Port(s). This means that WinMX or the ChatRoom Server needs to be Running during Testing, otherwise the Tool will tell you WinMX or the Server/Client is not Running because it can Not Communicate with WinMX.
For now the Port Checker can be used by any Visitor (Registered Members and UnRegistered Guests) but we might change this in the near Future to Save our Limited Bandwidth for the people that take the time to become a Member and Sign up for their own Personal/Private Account (FREE, ...like All other Stuff on this Site!)
If there are Any Questions about this Topic feel free to Post Questions about this and I will Try to come up with a Sensible Answer.
Finally I would like to thank Piney for sharing his Knowledge about this with us!!
The PortChecker can be found in one of the Blocks at the Left Side of the Portal/Entrance Page!

MSN PassWords and the like

* *
Lately more and more people on my MSN-Friends list seem to have given away their passwords unintentionally, which gives their account-control to some stranger/company!!
This is probably the oldest trick in the book of hacking someone's account but many people still seem to fall for this.
Here's an example of how they trick you to give them your password and even give them permission legally to access/use your account and send mail/spam in your name to all your friends:
You receive an email from one of your friends (from your friends-list, one that has already fallen for this trick) saying in example that this person has SEND YOU A SECRET MESSAGE/WON A PRIZE/RATED YOUR MSN SPACE OR PICTURES (or anything else, intended to make you curious), then you have to click a link in the email to view that message, you get send to a page where your email-account is already filled in and you only have to fill in your password... ...DON'T EVER DO THIS!!
Almost nobody will ever click the Conditions/Terms of Service and read them, if you would.. you would be able to read that you give them control over your account and that they are allowed to access your friends-list to periodically send them these same misleading emails under your name, like the one you recieved yourself from them under the name of a friend (who knows nothing about this).
So don't let yourself get lured to give away your passwords!!!
If you already fell for this trick you can easily lock them out again by CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD!!!
If you receive such a message from one of your friends inform them about it and please refer them to this explanation here on this site so they will quickly understand the "how's and why's!
I hope this message is a good warning for all people who are liable to fall for this trap, because that's just what it is ... a TRAP!
P.S.: This trick is often also used to sell you an SMS-Subscription, which is even worse than described above!!!

Hi everybody,
It used to be no good idea to use Internet Explorer or FireFox Nighlty 64bit Editions because there was no Flash Plugin for it.
As far as I can see that has now changed with the final release of Adobe Flash Player Version 11
Here are the links to the downloads for those who did not auto update (because they were using a Pré-Release version) :
Click >>HERE<< for Internet Explorer (both 64bit and 32bit support)
